Gregory Vassilev, M.D., is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology. Licensed in California and Colorado.   He has been in practice since 1999.  His area of expertise is the management of complex painful injuries. 


Dr. Vassilev began his education at the Freie Universitat Berlin School of Medicine.  After moving to the USA in 1984 he  received a BA in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.   He further studied Pharmacology at Hahnemann University School of Medicine and received a MS there.   


Dr. Gregory Vassilev  earned his M.D. at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed a prestigious Surgical Internship and Anesthesiology Residency at the Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center.


Throughout his life and training, he has studied Tibetan and Japanese medical arts, receiving empowerments and teachings from some of the most accomplished philosophers, teachers, and scholars of our time.   In addition, Dr. Vassilev exhibits a lifelong passion for extreme sports, including windsurfing, kite surfing, surfing, snowboarding, paddle boarding and car racing.  Many athletes from around the world come and see him for care because of his understanding of the special needs they have. 

Among his special skills and areas of interest are interventional pain management, regional anesthesia, ultrasound guided pain blocks, PRP and Stem-Cell  joint rejuvenation, sports injuries and anti-aging. 


He is also a life-member of the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Pain Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Medical Association.

He is fluent in English, German, Bulgarian, and Russian. Dr. Vassilev also understands Italian, Japanese, and Tibetan.
